March Wrap Up!
(Meet Draeven. He is a good boy.)
Woohoo! Time for an action report!
I’ve been extremely busy this month working on Fools Gold, the sequel to Blood Diamonds! I turned it in for structural dev edits on Friday. It took longer than normal, because it kept getting too dang cold for me to work. :( Literally, I’d be shivering and unable to really think. But it’s in and I have a few chapters left to write, but there were notes and awaiting suggestions!
Sapphire Seas, the final book of the trilogy will be next! I’ve got a good idea of what’s going to happen in it, but need to get Fools Gold on the next step before I write it. :D I’m excited. Going to note right now, I never MEANT to write a book involving gods. I wrote so many manuscripts without ever venturing into all the folklore and myths I knew. Well, now I’ve embraced it, because it’s so fun and poor Sept is so frustrated with these people…and the fact that he keeps having to deal with them.
I’m working on Glass Castles and should begin posting that soon to substack. Probably should’ve started earlier, but I kind of wanted to do some sketches to go with it. I’ve been too busy with writing to do any art for the last few weeks.
I sold a Fae story to Auntie Heroes! Realized that oh, that’s my first Nordic Dragonfae in Sigrid. :D She’s got a mission, and a will to get it done despite her aged body.
Hoping to hear something from Selene Press. I submitted A Dryad For Christmas to their anthology.
I’m over writing a short story to submit to Pet Monsters, featuring my favorite things…Fae. :D In the hands of a child. :D By over writing, I mean that this first draft has a large chunk that I’ll immediately cut off and file away. It’s fun that it’ll go with my Rescue Me series, which I’m toying with the idea of having two novels or a novel and a novella that lines up with the novel, so that I have a primary Arc (SULLY!) following the rescuers and their chaos, with the novella exploring the situation the Fae they’re rescuing have become involved in. You can imagine how much trouble tiny little Fae can get into when they live in the wrong place…and people are trying to catch them to use as lab experiments and pets. My CP has started referring to these as Urban Fae stories. :) I like that. They’re so not meant for urban environments!

I didn't get much of a choice. The Crannic gods showed up and threated to steal my sleep if I didn't include them. lol.
